Crypto exchange Binance said the company lost millions of dollars due to an article on Forbes, which according to Binance believes the information in the article is false.
Binance filed a lawsuit in the state of New Jersey against Forbes Media and journalists Michael del Castillo and Jason Brett. Binance alleges that a Forbes article titled "Leaked 'Tai Chi' Document Reveals Binance's Elaborate Scheme To Evade Bitcoin Regulators" is false and highly misleading.
According to Binance, the information in this article is incorrect and contains defamatory content. Binance is currently claiming compensation for the damage this article has caused the exchange and at the same time asking Forbes to be held accountable.
In the complaint, filed on November 18 to the New Jersey District Court of the United States, Binance stated that: “The content in the article contains many false, misleading and defamatory statements. about us (Binance) ”.
In addition, Binance asserted that Harry Zhou, who is believed to be the author of the document, never worked for the exchange.
Binance's complaint notes that the company sent the defendants a letter requesting removal, withdrawal, and apology.
This is not the first time that Binance has sued, before, at the end of 2019, the exchange also claimed to sue The Block (a cryptocurrency news site) for some false news about the exchange.
Currently, Forbes has not released any statement on this issue.
