Report from BIS: 67% of central banks are researching CBDC

The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) released a survey report on Wednesday, addressing the stance of global central banks towards CBDCs.

Basel-headquartered Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has released a survey report, showing the stance of global central banks towards digital currencies and stablecoins.

The survey says two-thirds of central banks are engaged in research into central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and stablecoins, but most of their research is still in the early stages. Earlier, the BIS and several central banks published a report on the key requirements for CBDCs.
