Authorities in Russia appear to want to 'declare war' on Binance, as the exchange's domain name is currently on the list of banned websites in the country.
On June 24, Binance announced on the Telegram Binance Russian channel that the Russian telecommunications regulator Roskomnadzor has blacklisted the Binance domain - a list of banned websites in Russia.
According to the announcement, Binance was listed as due to the distribution of data related to the acquisition of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.
Although Binance's domain name is blacklisted, traders in Russia can still access normally without having to fake IP or change the direction of access, all transaction activities are still normal.
At the time of writing, Binance's domain is still on the Roskomnadzor blacklist.
The Binance executives stressed that they have not received any notice of being blacklisted by Russia.
“We have not received any notice from law enforcement, civil or court, announcing that the website is banned in Russia. We are currently asking our legal advisers in Russia to get hurt. We want to make sure that investors in Russia won't be affected, their accounts will be safe ”
At the end of August, Roskomnadzor also blocked BestChange.ru - a major Russian cryptocurrency website from providing aggregate services to about 8 cryptocurrency exchange websites in Russia.
